Yellowstone is the geothermal one: geysers, hot springs, and mudpots spread across a high volcanic plateau, with bison and elk on the roadsides and wolves in the Lamar Valley. It is enormous, so the drives between basins are real, and most interior roads close to cars from about early November to late April.
Summer is the full experience and the full crowds. The park's campgrounds range from first-come to reservable months out, so decide which loop you are basing from before you book.
